More than ten years ago, after moving back to Minnesota, where I was born & raised, for a job at Camp Menogyn - YMCA Wilderness Adventures, I got a gift certificate to a yoga studio from my mom and stumbled into a yoga class. The teachers were nice and I had a sense that yoga could bring me closer to me, my health, the workings of my body and mind in a way that I had yet to understand more fully.
Sure enough, breath by breath, pose by pose, moment by moment, the technology of yoga worked its magic on me. I'm now working with a DC on healing through my nutrition, with some amazing results (see my clean eating posts).
I am currently taking the steps to pursue a career in medicine. My background is in natural sciences and psychology with experience across youth work, customer service, organizational development and private practice. After some soul searching I've found that my interest lies with medical science and serving & treating people to live fully alive lives - isn't that what we all want?
Residing in Phoenix, AZ, the yin & yang of the Sonoran desert and boreal forest feed my soul. When I'm not sporting yoga clothes, you can find me dancing with the majestic saguaros of the Sonoran desert, relaxing with my sweetie, romping with our little mutt, Eddie, or at the airport off to bask in the glory of our 21 acres of heaven the wilderness of Northern Minnesota.
